Project Description

ANNOUNCEMENT – RFQ COMING SOON

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) will advertise a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for emergency construction contract, HH-1014(E) 2023 Storm Damage Emergency Road Repairs, to support Hetch Hetchy Water & Power’s emergency road repairs. The SFPUC is actively working on the RFQ and has set a goal to advertise by April 21, 2023, possibly sooner. Additional details are provided below:

Preliminary Estimate Range: $10M to $15M.

Scope of Work: The scope of work is anticipated to include retaining walls (gabions, concrete block, and/or other), asphalt repair and replacement, erosion protection measures, excavation and earth work, drainage improvements, and other slope stability measures.

Location: The repairs are spread across multiple locations along both Cherry Lake Road and Hetch Hetchy Road, all are within ~5 mile radius. Cherry Lake Road and Hetch Hetchy Road are both located in Tuolumne County. See map under Documents.

Project Schedule: The project is currently in design and construction is expected to start in June 2023 with all repairs completed in October 2023.

LBE Participation (14B Requirement): LBE participation is encouraged but not required.

Incentive: The SFPUC intends to include a monetary incentive in the contract to promote meeting or exceeding the substantial completion dates.

PRE-RFQ Meeting: Pre-RFQ Submittal Meeting will be held virtually on April 24, 2023 at 10:00AM.

Anticipated RFQ Requirements: The SFPUC intends to qualify contractors based on the following items: (1) Safety, (2) Commitment to Mobilize, (3) Firm Experience, (4) Key Team Members, and (5) Bonding Surety.
