The City of Malibu is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide Engineering Design Services for the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) Median Paradise Cove to Zuma project. The overall objective of this project is to improve the safety and operations of the highway by installing new raised medians. This project is located in City of Malibu, California, in the Point Dume area. The project limits are on PCH between Zuma Beach and Paradise Cove Road. This project consists of constructing a raised median within 500 feet at the intersections of PCH and Paradise Cove Road in both directions (east and west) wherever a double-yellow line exists and extend the northbound left-turn lane by 100 feet. It will also construct a new raised median approximately 500’ in length at PCH and Busch Drive (east of Busch Drive) where the existing double yellow line exists. The project will also include demolition and earthwork to remove existing asphalt, removal of existing striping, installation of new striping, signage, traffic control plan, asphalt concrete, and associated work such as pavement markers, utility pothole, etc. A stormwater pollution prevention plan and traffic control plan shall be prepared and implemented for the project.
