RFP #23-24 - Workers’ Compensation Claims Administration Services
The County of San Joaquin is soliciting Request for Proposals (RFP) for its Human Resources Division. Prospective Proposers are responsible for having full knowledge of this project and all issues affecting it. BACKGROUND: San Joaquin County is located in California’s Central Valley and employs approximately 7,200 full time employees. Along with its employees, the County also has designated volunteers and court-ordered work furlough participants (AWP) who are covered under the County’s workers’ compensation program. San Joaquin County is subject to Labor Code 4850 along with corresponding safety member presumptions. Applicable departments include the Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and the Probation Office. In addition to a sizeable safety membership, the County also operates a 196 bed, acute care hospital, designated as a Level III Trauma Center for the central valley. San Joaquin County has 31 departments/agencies, which provide a variety of community services to a diverse population of approximately 759,000 people. San Joaquin County consists of both metropolitan areas as well as large agricultural lands. Currently the County maintains a self-insured retention (SIR) of $500,000 per incident and is a member of the Public Risk Innovation Solutions and Management (PRISM)
