The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is providing early notice of its intention to request its Board of Directors to approve release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for High-Speed Trainsets and Related Services.
This announcement does not constitute a release of an RFQ or an invitation to bid.
The RFQ, if approved for release by the Board of Directors, would be step one of a two-step procurement. The RFQ process will result in a shortlist of teams that will be eligible to participate in step two, Request for Proposals for High-Speed Trainsets and Related Services.
RFQ Timeline
Subject to approval and direction by the Board of Directors, the anticipated timeline for the RFQ is as follows:
August 24, 2023: Board of Directors considers approving release of RFQ.
August 25, 2023: RFQ released on the California State Contracts Register (Cal eProcure).
September 6, 2023: Virtual Pre-Bid Conference and Small Business Workshop. Registration information to be provided following RFQ release.
November 14, 2023: Statements of Qualifications due.
January 2024: Anticipated shortlisting of firms eligible to participate in an RFP.
A draft RFQ will be available as an attachment to this event on Cal eProcure on August 17, 2023.
Substantive questions regarding this announcement may be submitted only after the RFQ is approved by the Board of Directors and released on Cal eProcure, and should be submitted to Della Leong at trainsets@hsr.ca.gov or (916) 324-1541.
