In general, the project consists of revisions and upgrades to the campus backbone infrastructure and communications cabling installations to provide for redundant and diverse connections from the campus Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room located in the Vasche Library Building (no. 001) to each campus building. Cabling upgrades and revisions to include: removal of existing PVC innerduct pathway and replacement with a fabric innerduct to expand existing conduit pathway capacity supporting new and future backbone communications installations; identification of degraded vaults/manholes and upgrade requirements to resolve aging infrastructure and water infiltration challenges; upgraded identification and labeling at vaults and conduit pathways to support ongoing operations and future installations; installation of diverse single mode backbone optical fiber cabling from Vasche Library Building MDF to each campus building; and coordinate connectivity of new fiber with Owner to network switches.
