The Napa County Department of Housing & Homeless Services is launching a pilot rental assistance program (“Program”) for older adults who are extremely low-income and severely rent burdened. It is expected that many of the eligible applicants to the program may already be receiving certain forms of cash-aid. A key part of early Program design and future Program implementation will be determining thresholds for qualification for a stratum of rental assistance provided based on the final eligibility criteria plan. It will also include exploration of the impact of this assistance on individuals receiving CalWORKS/CalFresh, MediCal and SSI/SSP assistance.
