The Community Development Block Program (CDBG) is provides flexible funding for community development projects and programs to assist individuals and families from extremely low- to moderate-income households as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City receives an entitlement grant based on a national formula and has participated in this program since 1977. All eligible non-profits will also be considered for the Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA), a program to increase housing affordability as defined by the California State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). All organizations who service low-income community members in San Mateo are encouraged to apply.
