Amendment 1 extends the due date for quotes to May 22, 2023 at 3pm Pacific Time.
There is no formal site visit planned. Vendors are encouraged to walk the project area independently and submit any questions by email.
There is currently a significant amount of snow preventing access to the project area. This is the reason for the extension of the due date for quotes. Vendors are responsible for checking available public information sources to determine when roads are clear to access the area.
The estimated start date for work is changed to June 5 or within 10 days of contract award.
Description of Work: The intent of this contract is to reduce undesirable trees and brush in reforestation stands by the use of mechanical equipment. The areas will be treated in such a way that all technical specifications will be met.
Location: The project is located on the Amador Ranger District of the Eldorado National Forest.
The Amador Ranger District office is located at 26820 Silver Drive, Pioneer, CA 95666, approximately 18 miles (29km) east of Jackson, CA on State Highway 88. All work sites are within approximately 1 hour travel time from the district office. The location of the work sites, access to the area, size of stands, and other information pertinent to each treatment stand is contained on the vicinity and location maps and Supplemental Specifications Data Table.
Description: Mastication of trees and brush will be performed in 29 stands, totaling 377 acres. See Supplemental Specifications Data Table for individual stand information.
Treatment areas will generally consist primarily of plantation trees but will include residual young growth and natural regeneration which may be different in size from the plantation trees. All trees, planted and natural, and all woody brush, within the treatment area must be treated to specifications. Boundaries of treatment areas will generally be defined by the edge of the surrounding mature timber or other geographic features such as roads, ridges, and/or drainages. In cases where the boundary is unclear, the Government will, upon notice from the Contractor, either mark the boundary in question with blue and white striped flagging or allow the Contractor to follow the boundary via GPS, on a case by case basis. All markings from previous treatments, including flagging of any color, will be disregarded.
Please read the full solicitation and attachments to this notice for further detail before submitting your quote.
