Description
The United States Bureau of Reclamation, California Great Basin Region, intends to award a firm-fixed price, base plus four (4) option years purchase order on a sole source basis with Ventek International Inc (VI), for the maintenance of five (5) automated pay stations (venstations), under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i).
Ventek International Inc (www.ventek-intl.com) is the sole manufacturer of the items. Venstations are comprised of proprietary PCI/PA-DSS compliant hardware and software that can only be supported by a Ventek certified technician, due to data security concerns. Failure to contract with VI would result in the likelihood of the venstations malfunctioning and becoming inoperable. The Bureau of Reclamation would then lose out on the investment in the pay stations as well as the ability to collect visitor fees.
