Description

The Contractor shall prepare the ships for tow, including ballasting the ship if needed, and tow MCMs (4, 8, & 12)

from the INACTSHIPMAINTO location at the Naval Station San Diego, California to the Contractor’s facility in

San Diego County, CA or by transport above water via heavy lift to an awardee’s facility located in the Continental

U.S. (CONUS). The tow must be in conformance with CDRL A001, which includes completion of the U.S. Navy

Tow Manual SL740-AA-MAN-010 Appendix H as well as a schematic of the rigging. Upon review and

confirmation of conformity of the documentation, the Navy’s technical authority for towing or a representative will

provide approval for tow. The Contractor shall ensure the stability of the vessel during the tow. The U.S Navy Tow

The Contractor shall complete the dismantling of the ships in a San Diego facility or a facility located in the

CONUS and remove and properly dispose of all regulated or hazardous materials/wastes in accordance with all

Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. The Contractor shall ensure the stability of the vessel during the

dismantlement. The Contractor shall process and sell all scrap and reusable equipment/material removed from the

vessel. The Contractor shall retain the sale proceeds to offset its costs of performance.
