Description

***NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC) and Fisheries Ecology Division (FED intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Government Scientific Source, the purchase of a quantity of twenty (20) DNeasy 96 Blood & Tissue Kit. The vendor is an authorized reseller of Qiagen, LLC products.



***The sole source determination is based on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) requirement for DNA extraction from fin tissue samples of fish using a filter-based system.



This particular brand name is essential to the requirement and market research indicates similar products do not meet or cannot be modified to meet agency needs. It is the only product compatible with liquid handling automation on a BioRobot 3000 and in 96 well format, uses a silica-based system for nucleic acid purification, and allows purified product to be eluted in 100-200 microliter volume without direct handling.





TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:



Sufficient material for DNA extraction from individual tissue samples is required.



Products must be compatible with liquid handling automation on a BioRobot 3000 and in 96 well format. Products must use a silica-based system for nucleic acid purification. Product must allow purified product to be eluted in 100-200 microliter volume without direct handling.





Delivery is 30 days from date of award or sooner.
