| Project Description |
Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, responses to the University's prequalification documents for a lump sum contract are sought from prospective prime contractor bidders (hereafter “bidders”) for the following project:
This project is being presented by UCLA Housing and Hospitality to request bids for General Contractors to provide professional construction services to construct a new approximately 8,000 gsf two-story building with 18 hotel-style units and 1 conference room space. The new building is located at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge located in Lake Arrowhead, California. The new structure will replace the existing seismically deficient housing and meeting space at Cedar Lodge. The project includes 18 rooms of housing, each designed to accommodate 3 staff members, and approximately 1,000 gsf of meeting space which would serve as social space for seasonal staff, and as meeting space during conference season. Demolition of the existing accessory structures on the proposed site and redevelopment of the existing parking area are included in the scope of work. Specific work includes but is not limited to abatement, demolition, grading, installation of underground utilities, foundations, slab construction, wood framing/shear panel systems, drywall installation, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, roofing, flooring/tile work, painting, bathroom accessories, concrete site work and landscaping. The project is located on Willow Creek Road. The site is immediately downhill and adjacent to the existing Cedar Lodge building (future site of Cedar Suites) and is currently used as a parking and service area with an existing 2,170 gsf wood-framed accessory structure to be demolished as part of the project. The project will comply with San Bernardino County construction guidelines with respect to permissible hours and days of work. Construction access and laydown will be within the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge property, near the proposed project site. Construction is anticipated to start in May 2023 with completion in May 2024.
