Description:

ADVERTISEMENT FOR MATERIALS TESTING AND INSPECTION SERVICES

UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select a Consultant to provide materials testing and inspection services for various non-specific UCLA Medical Centers, Hospitals, and HCAI-regulated UCLA projects at the Mid-Wilshire Neuropsychiatric Hospital Campus. UCLA anticipates the need for materials testing and inspection services for multiple projects supporting projects associated with the new or existing medical campus buildings. A specific list of projects has not yet been determined. The selected consultant will work under a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with the University, with authorizations for specific assignments from Capital Programs, Facilities Management, Medical Center Design, and Construction. The projects will be executed as necessary over the term of the agreement, which may be up to three years, with an option to extend for an additional three-year period. The scope of services will vary according to the specific requirements of each assigned task, with appropriate fees negotiated per UCLA policy at the time of each authorization. Aggregate fees are anticipated in the range of $100,000 to $3,000,000 over the term of the PSA. However, the selection of the awarded consultant for projects does not guarantee that fees of that value will be expended.

Familiarity with a full range of Medical Center/Hospital/HCAI project types undertaken by UCLA (including new construction, renovations, and many other project types) is critical; previous experience in public university settings is preferred.

The complete RFQ packet will be available at: www.capitalprograms.ucla.edu/Contracts/RFQProjects on Friday, December 2, 2022. Responses to the RFQ are due by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022. A screening committee will determine a shortlist of firms; further steps in the selection process will be at the selection committee's discretion.

Every effort is made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities within the University's limits imposed by law or University policy. Each candidate firm must show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.
