The updated General Plan must be web-friendly, visually appealing, easily understood, and prepared in accordance with all statutory and Town Code requirements. The selected consultant will be responsible for creating a process for updating the General Plan that is thorough and transparent, utilizes innovative methods of outreach strategies for public engagement, compilation of data, and analysis of all information and studies to prepare draft and final documents under the direction of the Community Development Director. The consultant will work with the Town to develop a schedule for the General Plan Update, including dates for meetings, public hearings, and Town Council consideration.
The Town also requires a thorough review of its Zoning Code and recommendations for a comprehensive Zoning Code update. The Zoning Code is available online at

. The Town prefers to retain one consultant to coordinate both the General Plan and the Zoning Code update but may award contracts to separate firms in its discretion. The General Plan and Zoning Code update are expected to occur concurrently with some phasing based on the consultant’s recommendations. Preliminarily, the General Plan update is scheduled for adoption in 2023 with the Zoning Code update anticipated to commence in Spring or Summer of 2023 with Council adoption in Summer 2024.
