Proposals are due no later than November 29, 2022 at 5:00pm. All proposals will be delivered to the Parks & Recreation Department at 323 Church St, Santa Cruz, California, 95060 before the due date. Late proposals will not be considered. Applicants will deliver three (3) sealed copies of their proposals before the due date. The City prefers for proposals to be printed on recycled paper and bound in an easily recyclable format. Email submissions will not be accepted.

Project Description:

The City of Santa Cruz Parks & Recreation Department is soliciting proposals from applicants seeking a surf school permit. The intent in soliciting proposals is to ensure qualified, experienced businesses are acquired to provide safe and accessible surf school lessons to the community. The City may issue up to four (4) permits authorizing surf school activities at Cowell Beach Recreation Area, at its discretion, to effectuate the purposes of Santa Cruz Municipal Code (SCMC) Chapter 13.14 - Surf School Regulations. The permits shall be non-transferable, and they shall expire five (5) years after the date of issuance.
