40TH STREET BRIDGE RAILING AND LUMEC LIGHT POLE PAINTING PROJECT

Description:

This project generally includes, but is not limited to, the preparation and painting of the following metal surfaces within the City of Emeryville:
•        the 40th Street Bridge Railing,

•        Approximately fifty-three (53) Lumec lights along or immediately west of Shellmound Street, and

•        Alternative Bid items, which may or may not be included in the project, consist of painting up to a total of 441 Lumec light pole paint at various locations throughout town.
The work, to be completed within 80 working days, is more fully described in the Contract Documents, as defined in the Contract provided in Section 8, Part A, Bid Documents. Additional working days will be provided if Alternate Bid Items are selected to be included in the Contract, as specified in Part C, Special Provisions. The engineer’s estimate for this project is $1,870,000 and is based upon the Total of the Base Bid Items ($835,000) plus Alternate Bid Items ($1,035,000). Liquidated Damages in the Amount of $1,500 per calendar day will be assessed for failure to complete the contract work within the number of workdays specified.
Bidders and their proposed subcontractors shall hold such licenses as may be required by the laws of the State of California for the performance of the work specified in the Contract Documents. Bidders bidding as the prime Contractor shall possess a valid California State Contractor’s License, Classification A – General Engineering, or Classification C33 – Painting and Decorating at the time of contract award and throughout the Contract term. The Contractor will also be required to ensure that all subcontractors working on the project are holding valid licenses suitable for their trade.
