The City of Arcata is soliciting bids from Licensed Timber Operators for the 2023 Timber Harvest. Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Manager, Arcata City Hall, 736 F Street, Arcata, California, until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The successful bidder shall:

1. Fall, buck, yard, load and deliver approximately 515 MBF of Redwood, Douglas fir, and grand fir logs. Logs manufactured from designated timber located in the Arcata Community Forest Jacoby Creek Tract Section 24, T5N, R1E HB&M.. This project involves selection harvest with ground-based yarding.
2. Install three (3) culverts and construct 860 LF of seasonal truck road.
3. Install designated erosion control measures and culverts following operations.

Each sealed envelope containing a bid must be plainly marked on the outside as “2023 Logging Bid.” Bidders are solely responsible for the timely delivery of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The bid award may be made on or after the regularly scheduled Council Meeting on May 3, 2023.

A non-mandatory field “show-me” trip is scheduled for Friday, March 31, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Interested parties meet at the Arcata City Hall/Library parking lot; the entrance is east of F Street on 7th Street, in Arcata, CA.
