Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), under a Prime Contract for the operation of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), herewith solicits your proposal to furnish one Synthesis Robot for Atomic Control Over Inorganic Materials.



The Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) is a user-oriented research center whose mission is to be an open facility for the nanoscience research community and advance the science of nanomaterials that addresses the nations’ energy challenge. Research at CFN focuses on the development and application of advanced techniques to understand structure-processing-property relationships in functional nanomaterials. New and unique capabilities would enrich both internal research and our User program.



BSA is planning to procure an Inorganic Autonomous Synthesis Robot cluster deposition tool for the Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). The instrument will be procured by Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) on behalf of the Molecular Foundry as part of the Nanoscale Science Research Center Recapitalization (NSRC-Recap) project.



BSA invites you to participate in accordance with the RFI letter and all supporting attachments. This requirement has been posted on the SAM.gov website under solicitation RFP-415871. The response due date is October 21. 2022 at 4:30PM. Any questions concerning this RFP must be addressed via email to the attention of Nick D’Abbraccio (ndabbracc@bnl.gov).



11/22/2022 - The purpose of this amendment to RFP 415871 is (1) extend the proposal due date through 4:30 PM ET on December 12, 2022, and (2) change the Contractual Representative from Nicholas D'Abbraccio to Maile Nichols. All correspondence, proposal and proposal-related submissions related to RFP 415871 shall be sent to Maile Nichols at mnichols@bnl.gov. Maile Nichols can also be reached at 631-344-3936.



12/06/2022 - The purpose of this amendment is to provide all offerors with the answer to a question received in reponse to the solicitation.



Question: Is this proposed model of two separate offers that meet the overall requirements acceptable in response to the solicitation?



Answer: Offerors’ may submit multiple offers (proposals) in response to the solicitation. Each offer (proposal) will be evaluated separately against the requirements of the solicitation. An individual offer (proposal) proposing multiple components that ultimately meets the solicitation requirements is acceptable.
